Robot-assisted leak detectors from the market leader are used in demanding industrial processes in production and quality control. This system covers a wide range of applications, for example at manufacturers and service companies of air conditioning and refrigeration appliances as well as in the automotive and automotive supply industry. MIRAI from Micropsi Industries is a control system that enables industrial robots to deal with variances in production.

Thanks to MIRAI’s artificial intelligence, robots can perform complex tasks that could not be automated without AI. The complete turnkey solution from Micropsi Industries and Atec is used to recognise, approach and inspect solder joints 100% of the time. Since every refrigerator is unique and solder joints and tubes always look different, MIRAI has to deal with variances.

Robot skills are trained by human demonstration in just a few hours. No programming or AI skills are required. The advantage of this fully automated technology is the robust and precise placement of the gas probe at the solder joints.

This is essential for detecting even the smallest leaks. This achieves quality advantages and saves costs.

Gripping, guiding, plugging and unplugging cables was previously not possible with conventional automation. Whether power, data, broadband or other cable types, they are all characterised by a high degree of flexibility and dimensional instability. They are flexible, change their shape when moving and must be precisely positioned and guided with the right force for correct connection. The position is not always the same either: cables even have to be gripped and plugged in from the air.

Thanks to artificial intelligence, robots now have hand-eye coordination: the AI-based MIRAI controller from Micropsi Industries enables robots to perceive their environment. With the help of machine learning and camera images, MIRAI-controlled robots learn to deal with variances in real time – enabling automated cable plugging in just a few simple steps. Instead of programming the robot, human demonstration trains it to handle cables in just a few hours.
